Stormy Creek Homestead needed access to their property, so they called Nature's Potluck to open things up a bit. Unchecked erosion had jumped their entrance road and was carving a ditch across the driveway. Now that the drainage is fixed, roadwork can begin.
Good looking field in dry weather, but it holds water for weeks after a good rain. Needs to drain so some farming can happen. Looks like it's gonna have to be a tag team effort using an E-35 and a T-650 with laser assistance.
Being on trench duty with a regular shovel will surely make you dream of a hydraulic driven shovel. In comes the 4 foot smooth bucket, just for that task. In the video you will see the laser being used to ensure we don't make a situation worse and get the water to drain.
This field is flooding the house on the other side of the treeline. Luckily for them an agricultural drainage ditch is within reach, if a precision grade can be cut.

Unless your putting it in a pipe and pumping it, the answer is always downhill. Small slopes aren't always discernible to the eye, so this is where the laser shines and ensures no pooling!
We sure can. But be forewarned, its always cheaper and less prone to failure if you can keep water flowing over the dirt.
I am not Amish, but I do get that a lot.
On behalf of the staff of Nature's Potluck we would like to thank you for coming by the website.
